last minute gift ideas for her

Since I wrote one for the guys, I figured I’d write one for the girls. Literally everything on this list you cannot go wrong. I don’t know any girlie girl who wouldn’t like at least one thing from the list. Shoot, I don’t know any girl who wouldn’t like at least one thing from the list. Here are some other ideas that are different from the typical Valentine’s Day gifts of flowers, jewelry, and a nice dinner (although those are greatly appreciated too).

Plushies (prices vary) – Getting a cute plushie can always put a smile on your girl’s face. The typical oversized bear is always an option but if she likes a certain Disney character, the Disney Store has so many cute and cuddly plushies to choose from. If you have a Sanrio store near you, you really can’t go wrong with a Hello Kitty, Chococat, or My Melody plush.

Make up (prices vary) – Okay, I’ll admit that makeup is something that might be a little difficult to shop for. You could always raid her make bag and see what she uses and buy her backups or here are some products that I recommend:
Mascara ($10 for small version, $23 for full size) – They’re Real Mascara by Benefit can be found in your local Ulta, Sephora, or a Benefit beauty bar.
Lipstick ($20) – Make Up Forever's Rouge Artist Intense. Most girls love red lips so I would recommend getting the color Satin Vibrant Red. Try checking at your local Sephora
Eyeliner ($16.45) – Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner. If you have an Asian specialty store, you should be able to find Dolly Wink products. If not, Amazon will be your best bet.
False Lashes ($3.99) – Ardell Lashes in natural 110, demi 120, or glamour lash black 105. All should be available in Ulta, Target, or your local drug store.
Moisturizer ($24) – First Aid Beauty Face Moisturizer can be found at Sephora. Literally this is the best moisturizer I have ever used. It is gentle on skin while feeling light and clean.

Clothes (prices vary): I think most girls like getting cute accessories as presents. Cute clothing accessories are always a huge plus. Think leggings, tights, or pretty socks. We can never have too many leggings (less than $10 at Forever21) or tights. As far as socks, thigh highs are greatly appreciated especially if your lady wears skirts and dresses regularly. Tights and socks can be found anywhere but I’d recommend looking at Forever21, H&M, Urban Outfitters or even Target. Aside from accessories, getting a cute dress or sweater is something we love too. You can never go wrong picking something up from J Crew, Urban Outfitters, H&M, or Forever21.

Lingerie (prices vary) – Speaking of cute clothes and accessories, what girl doesn’t love getting new lingerie? Honestly, I would recommend getting something more practical like a bra and panty set instead of a one piece or corset. There are some really pretty lacey bra and panty sets at Victoria’s Secret and Fredericks of Hollywood. They can be a little pricier so if you’re looking to save some money Victoria’s Secret usually offers 3 panties for $30 or even 5 for $25 depending on the style.

Kigurumi ($59.99) – Not only are these cute and popular right now but they are extremely comfortable. They are perfect to keep warm in the rest of the winter. To make an even cuter statement, get one that matches hers. Find Kigurumis here.

Cute purses (prices vary) – Ladies love their designer bags. Michael Kors recently released the Selma Medium Saffiano Leather Messenger ($228) which would be perfect for Valentine’s Day. Kate Spade also has a cute bag that was recently released called the Cedar Street Maise Shoulder ($368). For something less expensive, ModCloth has the Full Course Load Bag ($63.99 on sale) or the Cambridge Satchel Upwardly Mobile Satchel ($143.99 on sale). If you’re looking for something even more cost effective, do not hesitate to look at stores like Forever21, H&M, Charlotte Russe.

Shoes (prices vary) – Rounding up the list would be shoes. I think it is essential for all ladies to have at least one pair of pretty heels. That way she can wear them out on a date or even wear them to work. Surprisingly, I found Charlotte Russe has a lot of fun and affordable heels. Getting her a pair of new black pumps ($32.99) would be the most versatile. If she isn’t as confident walking in a heel, try getting her the version with an ankle strap ($32.99). If she really isn’t into heels, CR still has a ton of cute options for flats.
I hope this helps with thinking of ideas for your lady. Happy shopping, guys!

Last minute gift ideas for him

If you’re anything like me, I usually wait until the last minute to get gifts. With Valentine’s Day coming up, I thought it would be nice to compile a small list of fun last minute gifts for the guy in your life.

Amiibo ($12.99) – If he has a Wii U and plays Super Smash Bros Wii U then getting an Amiibo is something he would love. They can be found at your local GameStop, BestBuy, or even Target. A current list of Amiibos can be found here
Gamer gift cards ($10-$100) – Sticking to the subject of gaming, you can never go wrong with gift cards. They have gift cards for Steam, League of Legends, Hearthstone, Xbox, Playstation, and many others. These are a perfect option if he's into gaming.

Funko Pop (~$13) – If he’s a fan of a TV show, comic book, or movie, funko pops are always a fun and inexpensive gift. They look great in cubicles, on night stands, or even by the at home computer. HotTopic, Barnes and Noble, and local comic book stores usually carry a variety of these little guys. If you’re having trouble finding them in your area, I suggest going here and utilizing the store locator function.

Comic books (prices vary) – With the rise of comic book movies, getting actual comic books would be a fun gift. Prices can vary due to rarity and condition but it’s possible to stumble upon some great finds. Even one of our local comic book stores offers issue bundles from $20-$50 a bundle. These bundles usually carry a set amount of issues from a specific series. I've seen some bundles carry issues 1-50. They also list what issues are missing from a bundle. Buying one of these makes it easy for if he was looking to start a comic book collection.

Jawbone Jambox ($122.99) – Best Buy is having a sale on Jamboxes right now. These things are great especially if your guy likes listening to music. It connects wirelessly through Bluetooth and it produces a good amount of sound for being so compact. We use ours a lot and the sound quality is really clear. They also have a larger version that is going for $290.99 so if you think he’ll be using it more often in large spaces this may be a better option.

Clothing (prices vary) – It is always nice getting your man some nice dress clothes. Something that is timeless like a blazer, button up shirt, or even a tie and pocket square would be perfect options. He can always use something like that for events, job interviews, church, work, or even every day. Topshop (can be found in Nordstrom) and J Crew would be my top recommendations. If that is too pricey, you can find some nice things at H&M, Forever 21 Men, and Express Men.

Shoes (prices vary) – On the topic of clothes, shoes are another great option. Getting dress shoes (~$180 and under) or desert boots (~$140 and under) from Clarks are great for the guy that likes to dress a little more dapper. These also work for guys who have a lot of face to face meetings with clients at their job. For the runner or if he just likes going to the gym, the Nike Free (~$160 and under) are comfortable and mine and my husband's go to for gym shoes. They even work well as everyday shoes.
I hope this was helpful and you're able to use these suggestions to try and find something for your guy this Valentine's Day. Happy shopping!
