 Summer Time Flowers

After almost a month, Jered and I finally received our furniture! I wanted to make our place more homey so I made a bouquet out of some flowers that I found. Fresh flowers can always make a room feel so much more refreshing and beautiful. I've noticed making your own floral arrangement is less expensive than buying something that is premade. Maybe I'll post a DIY to create a similar floral arrangement. In a way, just having a nice arrangement inspires me to create other beautiful things. What about you? What inspires you?

 Pink hair and wigs
Wow, I can’t get over how busy I have been. I have completely neglected this blog with everything going on. Although I haven’t been travelling, I have been working hard trying to get my shop up and running. It has been a little over a week since the launch and there have been no sales as of yet. :(

In other news, I recently received a pink wig! Since seeing Scarlett Johansson in Lost in Translation, I’ve wanted pink hair. Unlucky for me, my hair is jet black and Asian, so it’s extremely hard to dye. Even when I dye my hair with Palty (a well-known Japanese box dye) it still has orange or red tones to it. Not something you want for pink hair. So instead of damaging my hair, I bought a wig!

I think the only down side is that literally it makes me want pink hair even more. I’ve kind of thought, okay if I want to dye my hair; I just have to realize it’ll be a long process. And I’ll be an orange head lmao. At least until I’m platinum blonde. I don’t know. What do you guys think?

 Free Comic Book Day Haul!
Saturday was Free Comic Book day. Jered and I ended up going to two different comic book stores. Unfortunately, we got there too late and most of the free comics that we wanted were gone. Instead, we went on a shopping spree. At Corner Comics there was a 20% sale going on so we went pretty crazy buying some volumes of comics we've been into.

1) Impossible Man
2) Star Wars, Volume One | In the Shadow of Yavin
3 & 4) The Walking Dead Volume 3 and 4
5) Secret Avengers (Free)
6) Batman | Li'l Gotham special edition (Free)
7) ThunderBolts (Free)

We also were able to update our funko collection. I am seriously in love with my new Chewbacca. So cute! We got mystery minis as well and lol, we both got Spider-Man. Jered had to trade it for the one they already had (Punisher). Here's our updated collection:

Happy Monday!

 Tulip Town

Jered, Solomon, Christie, mom and I went to Mount Vernon for the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival on Saturday. It is an annual event every April. To my knowledge, they have two tulip farms, street fairs, and helicopter fairs. We went to one of the farms called Tulip Town. It was full of rows of tulips that my phone literally died from taking too many pictures.

There is always something magical about standing in fields of flowers. I don't know if it's because I am naturally drawn to vibrant colors or if I'm just easily overwhelmed by the beauty of Mother Nature. Either way, I had a lovely day literally tip toeing through the tulips.

 Our California Adventure

Last week we went to California for a little vacation. We arrived on Tuesday, quickly got our car, then went straight to Malibu. One of the reasons why we decided to go to Malibu was to go surfing. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't much better than the weather back home. We parked then went to The Surf Shack. The owner, Sean, was really cool. We purchased lessons and rentals. He was so nice and gave us free rentals for the next day.

Our instructor, Ryan, was also really chill. It was so funny. While we were walking down to the beach, there were numerous of tourists taking pictures of us. Ryan then told us they were shooting a movie. I think they thought we were part of the film! So silly... We got down to the beach and were able to get in the water. It was fun being able to surf again. I haven't gone in over 10 years and Jered said he's only gone a few times. Let me just say, I think surfing in wet suits is crazy difficult. I'm not sure if I was just used to the warm waters in Hawaii or what but I felt like I had no movement :( It was fun though. At the end of the day, we returned everything then headed to our hotel.

We were surprised since we specifically searched for Malibu hotels and this Oxnard hotel came up. So we had to drive about an hour to get there. Lol! What a joke. At least we were able to drive on PCH which ran along the ocean. It was a nice hotel too so we took time to just relax. I watched Jered play some Hearthstone until we had to go to the grocery store for water, sunscreen, and aloe. Luckily, next to the grocery store, there was an amazing sushi restaurant called Sushi-Holic. Super fresh and prepared by a true sushi chef.

On Wednesday, we went to work out then ate lunch. We tried this place called Chinese Dumpling House but it was horrible. I ordered hot and sour soup and we got the pork dumplings. This place is the kind of place for people who don't know what good Chinese food and only like egg rolls LOL. The soup was very smoky and didn't taste like hot and sour at all. The dumplings weren't even dumplings. They were pot stickers, hahaha.

We went back down to Malibu and were able to walk around and enjoy the sunshine. We went back to The Surf Shack to get our rentals again. Unfortunately, it was low tide and the area we were at the day before was now rocky. Since we didn't really know the beaches, we weren't sure where to go. Instead, we just hung out on the beach for a while before returning the rentals. We drove around and just explored Malibu to see what else we could do. It was nice just being away from reality for a while...Even though we both got sun burnt.

We checked out of the hotel on Thursday and started to head down to Anaheim. It was time for Disneyland! We checked into our new hotel and it was amazing! After checking in, we went straight to go get food at Tony Roma's. After lunch, we went to Downtown Disney. Jered and I got our Disney gear and then we met up with Stephany and her boyfriend Josh. She was going to let us into the parks for free :)

It was awesome being able to get into the park. It sucked because Space Mountain and Indiana Jones were closed! We were able to do Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Winnie the Pooh, Star Tours, Astro Blasters, Big Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain. It was weird because a lot of things weren't working. Haunted Mansion broke down while we were on it and a lot of guys in Pirates weren't moving, lol! Then Astro Blasters I kicked Jered's butt because it broke down and I was right next to a target that I just kept spamming. It was fun hanging out with my Fany-Ah and her boyfriend though. We got to watch the parade and Fantasmic. It sucked walking back home to the hotel though. Our feet were killing!

Friday was WONDERCON!!!! We bought tickets literally Thursday night and went Friday morning before our flight took off. It was so crowded but really fun. I wanted to take more photos with people who were cosplaying but eventually they'd get swarmed by people. Instead, Jered and I just went shopping. We found some cool shirts, comics, and I got a few cutesy things. After Wonder Con, we went back to Downtown Disney to get some last minute things. It was fun but honestly, it's nice to finally be home with our two baby kitties.
